Tekst, który właśnie pojawił się na Pamho. Przepraszam, że po angielsku, ale po angielsku był napisany. W skrócie, opisuje przyjazd małżeństwa, uczniów KKP, do Hong Kongu w dniu urodzin KKP, czyli przedwczoraj.
Dear Godbrothers & Godsisters,
Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada! All glories to Guru Maharaja!
My husband, Purusa-sukta Prabhu, and I arrived in Hong Kong on Monday. This is our last stop of a 4-week tour in mainland China, offering Japa Retreats to the devotees here. As we entered the Hong Kong temple and were taking our shoes off, I heard a very familiar voice say, "Haribol!" Guru Maharaja!! He was literally the first person to greet us at the temple—it was so endearing.
We chatted briefly, as Guru Maharaja was going to a kirtan program with BB Govinda Swami.
The next morning was Moksada Ekadasi, the most special day of Guru Maharaja's appearance. My husband and I called him in the morning and sang "Hare Krishna to You." Guru Maharaja laughed and said it was so sweet, we must have practiced all night.
He had an appointment with a professor at the university, and Guru Maharaja offered to bring lunch for the meeting. Our only Godsister in Hong Kong, Bhaktin Enda, cooked an amazing Ekadasi prasadam for a big amount of devotees. I helped her a little bit, and Guru Maharaja came to the temple at 12:30 pm to pick up the prasadam.
He returned to the temple before 7 pm, for the evening bhajan and glorification of the Bhagavat Gita. BB Govinda Swami was also there, so they took turns to lead kirtan and each one of them spoke for 15 min.
Guru Maharaja spoke about the Bhagavad-gita as a conversation, samvada. There is so much conversation going on all the time on the planet, especially in China (Chinese people like to talk a lot, in high volume). But none of the conversations are important enough to be remembered and discussed for thousands of years.
Srila Prabhupada translated the BG twice because he really wanted people to read it, not just have it. For most people, the BG is a big secret because they keep the book closed. "I assure you that if you keep the BG closed, it will remain a big secret for you," Guru Maharaja jokingly said.
So Krishna and Arjuna are inviting us into their conversation. Each one of us has our challenges, questions, uncertainties—much like Arjuna. Arjuna directed his doubts, fears, anxieties to Krishna. We can also direct our doubts, fears, anxieties to Krishna and then listen to Krishna's reponses. One way to listen is to hear His responses to Arjuna.
One aspect of the practice of yoga of the Bhagavad-gita is to learn to converse with Krishna. Bhadavad-gita is a practical manual, a yoga manual of how to converse with Krishna. After the breif talks, a devotee announced Guru Maharaja's birthday. Then a big Ekadasi cake was served to Guru Maharaja as BB Govinda Swami led us into singing the "Happy Birthday to You" song. Guru Maharaja cut the first piece of cake and offered it to Maharaja. Then Maharaja grabbed the piece and insisted on Guru Maharaja to bite first. Guru Maharaja did this very playfully, and then BB Govinda Maharaja finished the piece. Guru Maharaja received a traditional Chinese B-day card from the devotees in the Hong Kong temple. He and BB Govinda Maharaja continuously joked by saying Chinese words—to the laughing pleasure of the Chinese devotees. "Every time I try to speak Chinese, people laugh at me." Guru Maharaja said making a sad face.
What a joyful evening that was!
Hare Krishna!
Your servant, Divyambara dasi
